You can produce a very mild effect all the way up to totally obvious over cooked - your call. In-camera HDR only can be done with JPEGs and is a step up from DRO, bu now does multiple images.Īnd finally the RAW HDR is better yet, but does require you to process the images for a final result. They all work great.ĭRO is not quite in the same league as HDR, but is a way to get more detail from the shadows and to reduce the highlights a bit so that the image has a little better dynamic range. What other SW do you have? Lightroom can do it. ![]() What are some good (and simple) software packages to merge RAW files from my A57? And what would a high-level workflow look like?Īlso, can you use computer software to do MFNR, too? I don't even know if you can set the camera to take the same exposure repeatedly and rapidly (can you set it to bracket with zero exposure steps)? Just thought of that question and I do not have the camera with me at the moment. DXO does not seem to have the capability to merge RAW files in any of their recent versions. I have been using DXO Optics Pro 9 for RAW files. I would like to try to do HDR with RAW files, I assume that would look even better, but at the expense of some extra work. ![]() I decided that the in-camera HDR looked better. I have an A57 and I was experimenting with the in-camera HDR and DRO this past weekend.
